Normandy Impressionist Garden

James Priest, Head Gardener of the Fondation Monet in Giverny, has created a special Normandy Impressionist Garden for this event. The key elements of Claude Monet’s world famous water gardens are recreated here and remain faithful to Monet’s horticultural masterpiece.

The builder of the special garden, Alexandre Thomas from the Agapanthe Gardens in Normandy, received a Certificate of Commendation at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2007 for the stand of the Gardens of Normandy and Sussex.

Normandy Impressionist Garden

The Normandy Impressionist Garden is an invitation to discover the artistic movement of Impressionism. A relaxing scene unfolds inviting the spectator to pause for thought and admire a water garden with its bridge, water lilies, the play of light and reflection of the clouds on the water. Monet, the father of Impressionism, painted garden scenes which included agapanthus and the Normandy Impressionist Garden recreates these lesser known works of Monet with the agapanthus at the fore.

The tourist board team looks forward to meeting you on our stand to talk about the wonderful gardens and delights of impressionism in Normandy.
