Claude Monet's Cathedrals

This tour focuses on the Cathedrals series, which – together with the Water Lilies – forms one of Claude Monet’s greatest works.

Fascinated by light, the artist produced twenty-eight paintings of the façade of Rouen cathedral, at different times of day and in different conditions. Today, they are exhibited in the world’s greatest museums. As well as a rich collection of other Impressionist works, four of these canvasses can be seen at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rouen and at the Musée d’Orsay à Paris.
