Lieu de visite
In one of the meanders of the river Seine, in Normandy, along the Thatched Cottage Trail, the archaeological site of Saint Thomas's Chapel is a former 12th century leprosarium that accommodated people with leprosy from 1180 and for 350 years. The trail invites you to understand and experience how it felt to suffer from leprosy in the Middle Ages.
From 1998 to 2010, the ruins of the leprosarium revealed their secrets during the excavation works carried out every summer.
